Aufgaben

As our Head of ESG Reporting, you will lead the developement, implementation, and oversight of Environemental, Social, and Governance (ESG) disclosures for HSBC Continental Europe. This role is central to ensuring high-quality, transparent reporting that meets regulatory expectations, aligns with sustainability standards, and supports the bank’s strategic objectives.

  • Ensure full compliance with relevant ESG regulations and standards (including CSRD, EU Taxonomy, Pillar 3 ESG disclosures).
  • Oversee the end-to-end production and publication of ESG disclosures, including the sustainability report within the annual reports and ESG regulatory submissions.
  • Define and continuously improve the ESG reporting’s strategy, framework, and operating model for Continental Europe.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders across the bank —including Finance, Compliance, Corporate Sustainability, Risk, Legal, HR and Communications — to drive delivery under tight deadlines.
  • Work closely with Regulatory and Accounting Policy teams to anticipate regulatory changes and embed new requirements effectively.
  • Improve consistency and efficiency in ESG data and reporting processes (including strengthening controls and streamlining processes).
  • Support verification and assurance activities, engaging Second Line of Defence (2LOD) teams and audit where required.
  • Monitor evolving ESG regulation and industry best practice, assessing impacts and ensuring timely implementation across disclosures, processes, and controls.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including regulators, auditors, and relevant industry bodies.

Profil / Ihre Qualifikation / Ihre Persönlichkeit:

  • Master’s degree in finance, Sustainable Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in ESG reporting and/or financial reporting, within banking or financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of ESG regulations, disclosure requirements and reporting frameworks.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing cross-functional teams and delivering complex, time-critical programmes.
  • Excellent analytical skills, communication skills and stakeholder management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Fluency in English and French (written and spoken).
