This role is with Preqin, part of BlackRock’s Aladdin Client Business. Together, we are transforming how private markets data and technology drive investment decisions worldwide.
Preqin plays a critical role in expanding BlackRock’s private markets capabilities, complementing the Aladdin platform and helping clients view, analyze, and act across their entire portfolio. We are ambitious, collaborative, and deeply client-focused, and we’re just getting started!
Our mission is to create a better financial future for our clients. We are a diverse group of people who enjoy analyzing, reinventing, and enhancing how we work—all in pursuit of a better experience for our colleagues and clients. There are limitless problems to solve and opportunities for growth, alongside a team of smart and caring colleagues. Our culture is built on respect, inclusion, and diversity, as well as challenge, growth, and feedback. We believe people reach their full potential when the different aspects of their home, work, and community are all valued. We promise a fun, fast-paced work environment, competitive and innovative benefits, and the opportunity to shape your role in pursuit of your career goals.
As a Vice President on Preqin’s Business Development team, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving and accelerating our growth across the Nordic region. Based in Copenhagen or Stockholm, you will serve as Preqin’s dedicated commercial representative in the region, with significant responsibility for shaping and executing our local growth strategy.
We are looking for a commercially driven, relationship-oriented professional who is excited to build a market, open doors, and forge meaningful partnerships. You will generate new subscription revenue, build a strong and sustainable pipeline, and expand existing client relationships.
You will work closely with colleagues across BlackRock and Aladdin in the Nordics to identify joint opportunities, coordinate client engagement, and combine our capabilities to deliver better outcomes for clients.
This is a highly visible and autonomous role. You will be trusted to set priorities, develop Preqin’s regional presence, and represent the business to senior clients and market participants across Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Iceland.
Tasks
We’ll rely on you to manage the entire sales lifecycle—from the initial conversation to the close—by engaging senior decision-makers, understanding client needs, and delivering thoughtful, value-driven solutions. You’ll actively develop new business opportunities while also identifying strategic expansion opportunities within our existing client base.
You’ll bring Preqin’s products and capabilities to life, confidently articulating how we help clients solve complex challenges in private markets. This includes delivering compelling proposals, conducting impactful product demonstrations, and acting as a trusted partner throughout the buying journey—whether meeting clients in person or connecting virtually.
You will build relationships across the Nordic alternatives ecosystem, including institutional investors, asset managers, wealth management platforms, consultants, banks, service providers, and other key market participants. You will also represent Preqin at relevant industry events, conferences, and client forums, helping to strengthen our brand and local market presence.
Above all, you’ll be a collaborative force: working across functions with colleagues at Preqin, BlackRock, and Aladdin, sharing market insights and client feedback, and contributing to a culture that celebrates success and learns from every experience.
Profile / Your qualification / Your personality
We’re excited to meet candidates who bring energy, curiosity, and a growth mindset. You’ll have significant experience in business development, enterprise sales, relationship management, or account management within financial services, private markets, capital markets, investment technology, market data, or B2B SaaS.
You will bring strong knowledge of the Nordic financial services and alternatives landscape, ideally supported by established relationships with institutional investors, asset managers, wealth managers, banks, consultants, or other private markets participants.
You have a proven track record of delivering results, consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets, and you are comfortable navigating complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders. You understand how to negotiate strategically, identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities, and create long-term value for clients.
You are entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy, accountability, and ownership. You are commercially savvy, analytically strong, and naturally detail-oriented. You enjoy solving problems, setting your own priorities, and turning regional opportunities into a focused commercial plan.
Fluency in English is required. Danish, Swedish, or another Nordic language would be an advantage but is not a prerequisite.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft tools—including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint—and comfort with technology more broadly will help you thrive in this role.
