Success and growth for entrepreneurial and privately owned small and medium-sized businesses, as well as sustainability in the regional economic cycle, by financing companies and home-buying dreams through customers’ savings deposits—that is VKB’s business model.

With this model, 150 years after its founding, the bank is expanding beyond Upper Austria’s borders and, with a new corporate identity, is expanding into Vienna and Salzburg. With nearly 600 employees and 31 branches, it offers professional advice on an equal footing to small and medium-sized private, private banking, and corporate clients. The regional bank was founded in 1873 as a cooperative and is now operated as a corporation. Its sole shareholder is the Volkskredit Verwaltungsgenossenschaft, which has several thousand members.
