As part of HSBC in France, you’ll help evolve and grow our business.

Global Trade Solutions (GTS) comprises over 4,500 people across more than 60 countries, helping suppliers and buyers with their export and import finance needs. GTS is a key strategic business for the HSBC Group and is recognized as a leading trade provider both globally and regionally.

Are you curious, organized, and solution-oriented? Do you have a genuine interest in trade and receivables finance? Do you enjoy working in a team and in an international, fast-paced environment? If you answered yes to any of these questions, we want to hear from you!

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Senior Manager, Transaction Risk.

Tasks

The Transaction Risk Senior Manager role is based within Global Trade Solutions (GTS) / Transaction Risk Management (TRM). The Transaction Risk Senior Manager is responsible for the effective identification, assessment, ongoing management, monitoring, and mitigation of existing transaction risk for commercial clients. The role is responsible for managing the overall risk within the Receivable Finance (RF) portfolio in Continental Europe, and more specifically in Germany, including but not limited to credit, operational, collateral, and fraud risks.

  • Monitor portfolio trends, including sectors, positions of concern, delinquent positions, and non-recourse structures, ensuring alignment with risk appetite and taking appropriate action to mitigate losses—including reviewing information at the individual seller and portfolio levels to identify anomalies and trends;
  • Produce portfolio risk reports, participate in the preparation of presentations for RF and GTS risk meetings, and prepare reports for regulators;
  • Manage the underwriting of new credit opportunities and renewals, including submitting appropriate recommendations to Wholesale Credit Risk;
  • Manage the analysis and management of buyer credit risk and related trade credit insurance policies;
  • Review the seller’s ability to comply with undertaking and reporting requirements, ensuring that risks identified as a result of due diligence are mitigated and, in collaboration with the deal team, that an appropriate structure and subsequent risk mitigation measures are implemented;
  • Work closely with GTS Client Management and Sales teams in Continental Europe and across the GTS and broader Risk function community, including Regional & Global GTS Product Risk functions and Wholesale Credit Risk;
  • Communicate and adhere to HSBC policies and procedures to ensure sound operational, financial, and project management, as well as the early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise, taking necessary action regarding matters raised by audits and/or external regulators;
  • Participate in various cross-functional projects at the Bank in line with the TRM risk monitoring function;
  • Develop and recommend changes and improvements to operating models, procedures, and practices based on subject-matter expertise and an understanding of HSBC and market best practices;
  • Contribute to the team’s development, effectiveness, and success by sharing knowledge and best practices, and by working collaboratively with others to create a productive, diverse, and supportive work environment

Profile / Your qualification / Your personality

  • Experience in receivables finance or trade finance
  • Relationship management and/or risk experience
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements
  • Ability to understand and interpret financial information and analysis
  • Basic understanding of European insolvency law
  • Fluency in both spoken and written French and English (German skills would be a plus)

Even if you feel you do not meet 100% of our qualifications, we encourage you to apply if you believe this role is right for you.
