With clients in over 150 countries and offices on six continents, you’ll get exposed to different cultures, people, and business development happening around the world.

Alcentra operates independently as a Specialist Investment Manager and is headquartered in London, with offices in New York, Boston, Tokyo and Hong Kong. We are a leading, global asset management firm specializing in the sub-investment grade debt markets, experts in credit management, private credit, and structured credit strategies. Our investors include pension funds, insurance companies, government agencies, banks, wealth managers and high net worth individuals.

The Structured Credit Team is a market facing investment team specialised in the CLO asset class, actively managing positions across funds with c.$8bn AUM. Collateralised Loan Obligations (CLOs) are securities backed by senior-secured loans to US and European corporates, yielding returns via regular interest payments.

While working in the SC department you will receive an insight into the daily decision making of a market leading CLO investment team; developing strong excel skills, the use of Bloomberg terminal functions, as well as using SQL to query the SC database. Additionally, this role provides a unique opportunity to build relationships with external market participants.

Tasks

  • Assisting with bond auctions.
  • Analysing and suggesting both primary and secondary trade ideas.
  • Maintaining and improving the team’s analytics engine.
  • Learning about fund structures and NAV processes.
  • Insight into single name credit analysis both internally and via platforms the team has exposure to.

Please note that our internships run for a period of 12 months, with the successful candidate expected to start around June 2026.
