This role is part of our Wealth Management Business, a growing area for the bank. We’re expanding our ability to support clients with investable assets of up to £3 million and help close the Advice Gap in the UK. As part of our broader Affluent segment, this planning-led proposition offers clear and accessible investment options tailored to each client’s needs. Clients benefit from a seamless experience that combines digital channels with advisor support, creating a connected and supportive journey.
You’ll build lasting relationships by listening attentively, offering expert guidance, and tailoring planning strategies to each client’s journey. You’ll collaborate with our Wealth Acquisition team to welcome new clients and ensure a smooth transition from prospect to invested client. You’ll also work across teams to deliver a consistent and seamless experience.

Purpose of the role:
To establish and nurture profitable partnerships with both corporate and individual clients. It serves as the bridge between the bank’s offerings and clients’ needs, ensuring mutual benefit and long-term success.
Tasks
- Management of client relationships to identify the client’s financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance in order to support the analysis of data obtained from various sources—including the investment portfolio and cash flow—to identify trends, insights, areas for improvement, and additional services to support the client’s needs.
- Research and understanding of the client’s industry trends, regulatory landscape, and competitive environment to inform strategic recommendations.
- Designing customized solutions that address the client’s specific needs and objectives, incorporating a range of products and services from the bank’s portfolio.
- Communicate the value proposition of proposed solutions, justify recommendations, and negotiate terms that are beneficial to both the client and the bank.
- Providing guidance to clients to support their financial decisions, offering expert investment advice, risk management and wealth management strategies, and updates on market trends to ensure a positive and ongoing relationship.
- Assessing financial, legal, and operational risks associated with client relationships and implementing measures to minimize potential losses.
- Documenting all client interactions, transactions, and agreements to ensure transparency and auditability, and effectively communicating findings to support product development, service offerings, and the bank’s overall strategy.
- Monitoring client satisfaction, revenue generated, and other relevant metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of relationship management efforts.
Profile / Your qualification / Your personality
To be successful as a Wealth Planner, you should have
- A financial planning qualification at RDR Level 4 or higher, including certification in advising on packaged products.
- Experience providing personalized planning and investment advice, with a solid understanding of financial markets, products, and regulations.
- The ability to use digital tools to support client interactions, along with thoughtful communication that builds trust.
- A careful approach to identifying and managing risk, while maintaining high standards of compliance.
Other Highly Valued Skills May Include
- Experience working with internal teams and external networks to grow client relationships.
- Broad knowledge of the financial services industry, particularly in regulated retail products and asset management.
- Familiarity with pensions, investment advice, and U.K. taxation.
- FCA-approved status and experience managing risk within a client portfolio.
- Adaptability and curiosity in a rapidly changing environment.
