The Regulatory Reporting Officer will support the Head of Regulatory Reporting and the regulatory reporting team in managing the production of regulatory filings, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to regulatory and statistical reporting.

This role offers you the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in regulatory reporting, capital management, data analytics, and other finance and risk management areas through a hands-on approach and close collaboration with subject matter experts across the bank’s various functions.

Tasks

  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings within the scope of reporting to the MFSA/JST, statistical reports within the scope of reporting to the Central Bank of Malta, and other reports under the Regulatory Reporting team’s responsibility
  • Provide support in resolving regulatory reporting and data-related inquiries raised by internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and internal bank policies, proactively addressing regulatory changes and/or new requirements
  • Assist with regulatory reporting transformation initiatives, including process automation, data quality enhancement, streamlining interactions with internal and external stakeholders, and aligning the regulatory reporting agenda with broader finance priorities and business strategy
  • Contribute to governance forums, escalation documents, and ad hoc projects/initiatives
  • Support finance colleagues with key deliverables and ad hoc requests from management, regulators, and internal stakeholders

Profile / Your qualification / Your personality

  • Background (experience, qualifications, or knowledge) in banking and finance, accounting, economics, or a related field
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, with a mindset focused on continuous improvement and striving for excellence
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex issues clearly to multiple stakeholders
  • Data generation, analysis, and interpretation skills (proficiency in SQL and knowledge of programming languages would be considered an asset)
