Introduction to the Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions Group
The Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) team is the investment group at the heart of BlackRock’s portfolio construction, asset allocation, and active management ecosystem. MASS draws on the full range of the firm’s index, factor, and alpha-seeking investment capabilities to deliver investment outcomes and groundbreaking alpha insights. MASS constructs active asset allocation strategies and whole-portfolio solutions across a wide spectrum of commingled funds, separate accounts, model portfolios, and outsourcing solutions in the wealth and institutional channels.
Role Description & Responsibilities
MASS is looking for a motivated individual to join our growing EMEA Solutions team based in Budapest. The Solutions team designs, implements, and leads all aspects of portfolio construction and asset allocation to address our clients’ investment challenges. The team is responsible for designing holistic portfolio solutions for large asset owners and financial institutions, including tailored investment mandates focused on client outcomes.
Tasks
- Support the design, implementation, and ongoing management of portfolio solutions for existing and prospective clients to understand and meet their unique objectives and constraints. Stay current on client trends, industry news, events, research, and regulations, and ensure these are reflected in solution design.
- Perform investment analysis, provide insights, and contribute to decision-making across all stages of the investment process, including strategic and tactical asset allocation, manager selection and sizing, portfolio implementation, performance measurement and attribution, risk budgeting, and risk management. Support the delivery of high-quality investment outcomes across the client book while seeking opportunities to streamline workflows.
- Contribute to the development and ongoing enhancement of portfolio construction tools, analytics, and investment processes. Identify opportunities to drive scale, improve efficiency, and strengthen data quality by developing and implementing technology-enabled solutions where relevant.
- Collaborate with a range of internal partner teams to deliver the best possible client investment outcomes, including portfolio construction researchers, implementation specialists, manager researchers, risk managers, asset class specialist investment teams, and technology partners where appropriate.
- Drive the continuous evolution of the investment process by seeking opportunities to improve analytical frameworks, challenge existing approaches, and introduce new investment ideas, tools, and technologies that enhance the consistency, efficiency, and scalability of portfolio construction.
- Actively participate in cross-team research initiatives to generate and explore new investment ideas. Collaborate with multiple team members across multiple priorities to see ideas through to completion and implementation in client portfolios.
- Support our commercial growth targets by providing investment content for RFP responses, pitch materials, marketing materials, and other external client communications.
Profile / Your qualification / Your personality
- At least 3 years of proven experience in financial services or asset management, preferably across multiple asset classes and investment areas
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a desire to solve investment problems and translate analysis into practical insights. Demonstrated experience in improving processes, analytics, and workflows through technology. Coding skills and/or knowledge of Aladdin, Morningstar, Bloomberg, Tableau, VBA, SQL, and/or Python is expected, along with a willingness to further develop these skills to enhance portfolio construction capabilities.
- A solid understanding of financial markets, investments (e.g., fixed income, equities, alternatives), and key financial concepts (such as asset allocation, risk analytics, performance, attribution, etc.)
- CFA and/or CAIA are encouraged but not required.
- A consistent track record of academic achievement, strong work ethic, and leadership.
- Fluent in English with excellent communication skills, able to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external partners, and able to explain complex topics to non-investment professionals, both verbally and in writing.
- A curious self-starter passionate about execution, with a results-oriented work ethic and a professional demeanor.
- A strong team player who takes a collaborative and cooperative approach to tasks, with experience working with multiple partners to deliver projects on time and to a high standard, while also being able to work independently.
- Organized and thorough, able to prioritize and multitask quickly and efficiently, adapting to new situations in a fast-paced environment.
- A strong fiduciary who ensures the highest level of integrity and professionalism in every aspect of performance.
That awaits you
The salary range for Hungary is 13,400,000–20,100,000 HUF
. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and benefits including health care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. Our Hybrid Work Model
