We are looking for you to support us in the rapidly growing area of Systematic Equity. We are currently hiring a forward-thinking and results-oriented Portfolio Manager (f/m/d) to expand our high-performing and dynamic team.
In this position, you will be responsible for portfolio management, quantitative and stock research to help generate stable excess returns, as well as project work to help improve the overall investment process. The team’s investment philosophy is based on the conviction that investment styles such as value, momentum, and quality offer risk premiums that can be captured through a systematic approach, largely independent of the market and macroeconomic environment.
The Systematic Equity Group is an active, highly diversified equity portfolio management team managing over EUR 80 billion in assets under management.
Tasks
- Manage and monitor systematic equity portfolios, with responsibility for daily operations, risk controls, portfolio construction, and implementation
- Optimize portfolio construction with attention to factor exposure, risk budgets, transaction costs, and operational efficiency
- Analyze and interpret performance attribution, strategy behavior, and risk characteristics for both internal stakeholders and external clients
- Participate in client meetings and support marketing and distribution efforts
- Collaborate with other teams to prepare comprehensive reports and presentations
- Actively help develop and maintain our systematic tech stack by contributing to the codebase
- Be involved in quantitative research, including but not limited to idea generation, data analysis, (predictive) modeling, and back-testing
Profile / Your qualification / Your personality
- MSc or similar qualification in a highly quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Quantitative Finance, Business Administration, Economics, etc.); a PhD is advantageous
- Professional experience in an investment role as a portfolio manager is helpful
- Programming experience is required; knowledge of Python and SQL is strongly preferred; knowledge of R is a plus
- Experience with big data technologies, particularly within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem and tools such as Databricks, is advantageous
- An affinity for systematic investing is important; an understanding of financial markets and quantitative investing is required, with basic knowledge of factor investing being a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a hands-on approach, and keen attention to detail
- High proficiency in written and spoken English
