The Office of Regulatory Relations protects the firm’s regulatory reputation by managing its relationships with regulators and auditors and enhancing the firm’s overall regulatory compliance. We set standards for all regulatory interactions at the firm and oversee certain areas of improvement. We welcome people from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds who are interested in the regulatory landscape. This division is ideal for collaborative individuals who are comfortable interacting with various stakeholders across the firm, as well as with our regulators and auditors. Our work contributes directly to the firm’s success—whether by managing regulatory examinations and audits, implementing, overseeing, and assessing significant remediation initiatives and their effectiveness, communicating with regulators, or establishing firmwide regulatory standards.

Tasks

  • Leverage strong communication and relationship-building skills in frequent interactions with other areas of the firm
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including promptly escalating any obstacles or setbacks
  • Demonstrate resilience and creativity when under pressure and when managing time-sensitive demands from competing stakeholders
  • Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills, as well as analytical abilities
  • Understand and stay current on relevant laws, rules, and policies
  • Be consistently detail-oriented to ensure the consistent delivery of accurate work
  • Effectively and efficiently conduct business over the phone with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify and suggest potential corrective actions to address regulatory issues that arise during regulatory interactions
  • Identify and effectively escalate potential issues to the appropriate person(s)
  • Meet tight deadlines and work comfortably under time constraints
  • Persistently follow up with colleagues to ensure that the necessary information is obtained and recorded in a timely manner

Profile / Your qualification / Your personality

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Expertise with Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Business-level fluency in English, both spoken and written. Fluency in German is required
  • Excellent time management, analytical, and communication skills
  • Integrity, motivation, intellectual curiosity, and enthusiasm
  • Familiarity with financial products and markets
  • Experience working on behalf of financial institutions regarding regulatory or legal matters would be beneficial
