Investment Banking - Benelux M&A and Corporate Finance - Analyst (m|f|x) Amsterdam

The J.P. Morgan Benelux M&A and Corporate Finance team is responsible for executing public and private M&A transactions involving Benelux corporate and financial sponsor clients, as well as for international clients involving businesses based in the Benelux region. We maintain leading relationships with some of the most prominent clients in the Benelux and assist them, through M&A and corporate finance advice, in executing their corporate strategy and structure. We are involved in the vast majority of major M&A transactions taking place in the Benelux and consistently rank as one of the Benelux’s preeminent M&A advisory firms. Members of the deal team often interact on a daily basis with the client’s senior management.

As an Investment Banking Analyst within the Benelux M&A and Corporate Finance team, you will play a crucial role in the origination and execution of investment banking mandates across all major product areas. Your responsibilities include participating in the “full cycle” of transaction execution, including preparing marketing pitches, reviewing and formulating financial analysis, and preparing and presenting internal committee memoranda and client presentations for use in M&A, public or private capital markets transactions, and strategic dialogue.

Tasks

• Perform detailed valuation analyses, including DCF, trading comparables, transaction comparables, and LBO analyses
• Support daily deal execution and project management for clients
• Prepare presentation books, management presentations, board materials, memorandums, and other presentation materials for use in corporate finance transactions or strategic client discussions
• Perform detailed merger and acquisition analysis, transaction structuring analysis, and other financial analysis
• Work with J.P. Morgan’s product and sector teams

Profile / Your qualification / Your personality

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Relevant full-time investment banking or corporate finance experience, with a track record of assisting in the execution of M&A and capital markets transactions
• Proven financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills, with a high level of attention to detail
• Ability to handle pressure while multitasking across numerous projects
• Knowledge of the transaction cycle for relevant investment banking products
• Demonstrate a commitment to a strong teamwork environment
• Adaptability, flexibility, and resilience; ability to work self-directed and independently and to multitask across numerous assignments
• High level of attention to detail and strong time management skills
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
• Proficiency in MS Office applications and relevant knowledge of standard investment banking databases (FactSet, Bloomberg, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Outstanding academic qualifications
• In-depth understanding of investment banking products
• Experience working with clients and other transaction advisors
• Fluent in English and Dutch

This role involves the performance of regulated activities. The successful candidate will therefore be required to meet regulatory requirements regarding fitness, propriety, knowledge, and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and, where appropriate, obtain approval from the relevant regulatory authorities to carry out such activities.
