Tasks
Based in our Geneva office, you will join the Hedge Funds Customized Solutions (HFCS) team and serve as a trusted advisor to institutional and private clients on multi-manager hedge fund portfolios and tailored investment solutions. Working closely with investment and portfolio management teams and other stakeholders (bankers, investment specialists, etc.), your role will be to:
- Advise institutional and private clients on hedge fund allocations, portfolio construction, and customized investment solutions, translating complex investment topics into clear and actionable recommendations;
- Manage and develop client relationships: participate in client meetings and portfolio reviews, and respond to inquiries regarding investments, performance, risk, and positioning;
- Partner with hedge fund research and portfolio management teams to maintain a detailed understanding of underlying managers, strategies, portfolio exposures, liquidity, and key risk factors;
- Prepare and deliver high-quality client materials, investment proposals, portfolio commentaries, review presentations, and responses to requests for proposals and due diligence questionnaires;
- Contribute to the design and ongoing development of tailored hedge fund mandates and multi-manager solutions, taking into account clients’ objectives, constraints, and governance requirements;
- Support business development initiatives—including meetings with prospective clients, pitches, and follow-ups—in close coordination with relationship managers and other internal stakeholders;
- Monitor market and industry developments and communicate relevant insights on hedge fund strategies, managers, and portfolio implications to clients and internal partners;
- Coordinate effectively with investment, legal, compliance, operations, and reporting teams to ensure a high standard of client service and timely delivery;
- Actively contribute to team discussions, product development, and the continued growth of PAA’s multi-manager hedge fund franchise.
Profile / Your qualification / Your personality
- A university degree from a leading university; the CFA designation or another relevant professional qualification would be an advantage.
- Five years of relevant investment experience, preferably gained in hedge fund investing, fund selection, portfolio management, investment advisory, or client solutions within an institutional investor, asset manager, private bank, fund of hedge funds, or comparable organization.
- Strong knowledge of hedge fund strategies, portfolio construction, performance drivers, risk considerations, and liquidity terms, combined with the ability to communicate these topics clearly to clients.
- Proven client-facing experience, with excellent relationship management, communication, and presentation skills, and the confidence to engage with sophisticated institutional and private clients.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, sound investment judgment, and the ability to develop clear, well-supported recommendations.
- Excellent writing skills and attention to detail, with the ability to produce concise, high-quality client materials under time constraints.
- Genuine interest in financial markets and alternative investments, with an entrepreneurial, collaborative, and solutions-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a lean, multidisciplinary team.
- Fluency in English and French is required. Proficiency in any additional language is highly desirable and would be considered an asset.
