The Head of Real Estate Management and Office Services (REMOS) at AllianzGI reports directly to the Head of Operations and is responsible for two teams: Location Management and Office Services.
This role is responsible for leading, steering, and continuously developing AllianzGI’s global real estate footprint and office services across more than 20 locations worldwide. The primary objective of the role is to ensure a high-quality, consistent workplace and employee experience across all locations while expanding and professionalizing office services, strengthening financial transparency, and enabling the strategic growth of AllianzGI’s physical office presence.
This role will be based in Frankfurt or Munich.
Tasks
Strategic Leadership
- Responsible for defining, implementing, and continuously evolving AllianzGI’s Real Estate Management & Office Solutions (REMOS) strategy in line with business priorities.
- Lead the transition from traditional real estate management to an integrated REMOS operating model that encompasses locations, office services, and financial governance.
- Ensure that the REMOS structure supports AllianzGI’s increased in-office presence, expansion into new locations, and future workplace strategy.
- Act as the senior sponsor for large-scale real estate, office, and workplace initiatives.
- Provide clear direction, accountability, and prioritization across regions and functions to reduce complexity and organizational bottlenecks.
Location Management and Employee Experience
- Overall accountability for Location Management across offices in Europe, the U.S., and Asia-Pacific.
- Ensure a consistent, high-quality day-to-day employee experience across all locations.
- Steer local improvement projects and workplace enhancement initiatives.
- Act as a steward of local engagement groups and location-specific initiatives.
- Balance local requirements with global standards and governance.
Office Services
- Lead and expand Office Services across locations, including:
- Service Point operations
- Catering and external reception services
- Chauffeur/driver services, including full compliance oversight
- Ensure operational excellence, service quality, and vendor performance.
- Drive the introduction and adoption of new office technologies (e.g., room booking, meeting, and workplace solutions).
- Ensure that office services scale effectively with AllianzGI’s expanding network of locations.
Real Estate Financials
- Oversee REMOS financial management in close collaboration with Finance (e.g., budget control).
- Consolidate and maintain a transparent overview of monthly and annual REMOS costs.
- Safeguard business cases for large real estate and office projects.
- Improve transparency, predictability, and operational performance across all REMOS activities.
- Support disciplined investment decisions and long-term cost efficiency.
People
- Lead and develop the global REMOS organization.
- Build a strong talent pipeline and address succession planning needs.
- Simplify structures, increase spans of control where appropriate, and strengthen the effectiveness of the middle management layer.
- Foster a collaborative, performance-oriented culture across REMOS.
Operating Model
- Ensure full compliance with relevant legislation, internal rules, and corporate policies.
- Work closely with Operations leadership, Finance, HR, and local management teams.
- Represent REMOS’s interests in senior management forums and decision-making bodies.
- In collaboration with the Global Risk & Resilience team, ensure operational readiness and provide support for crisis management and incidents related to buildings.
- Facilitate the smooth execution of large-scale projects, including renovations, new office openings, and the implementation of new ways of working.
Profile / Your qualification / Your personality
- Senior leadership experience (10+ years) in real estate management, workplace services, office operations, or comparable environments.
- Proven ability to lead multi-location, international organizations.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to structure and prioritize work, exercise sound judgment regarding escalations and briefings to senior management, and maintain an outcome-focused management style.
- Financial literacy, including experience in financial oversight, business case governance, and cost transparency.
- Proven track record in change leadership and people development.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including interaction with senior leadership and Group functions.
- High execution capability, with the ability to balance employee experience, operational excellence, and financial discipline.
- Experience with business intelligence, data analytics, information security policies, and generative AI / GenAI / generative AI intelligence.
