As a Corporate Banker on the Global Corporate Banking APAC Subsidiary Banking team, you will support the management and growth of a defined portfolio of multinational subsidiary clients worldwide. This role requires you to take ownership of client accounts as a Relationship Manager and provide direct support to Senior Bankers on more complex client relationships. You will work closely with global, regional, and in-country bankers, product partners, and middle- and back-office teams to originate, execute, and scale client mandates, delivering comprehensive corporate banking services across cash management, foreign exchange, trade finance, and credit/lending.
Tasks
- Responsible for day-to-day relationship management and coverage of a defined portfolio of subsidiary banking clients, including proactive client engagement and responsiveness to client needs.
- Support Senior Subsidiary Bankers in managing broader or more complex client relationships, including meeting preparation, follow-ups, and the execution of agreed-upon coverage strategies.
- Drive disciplined pipeline management for your portfolio: maintain accurate tracking, prioritize opportunities, and advance deals from identification through execution and ramp-up.
- Identify and help execute new business opportunities by recognizing client needs across the full spectrum of corporate banking (cash management, payments, liquidity, FX, trade finance, and credit/lending) and coordinating internal resources to deliver solutions.
- Act as a key internal coordinator among headquarter, global, regional, and in-country bankers, product partners, and middle- and back-office functions to ensure timely decision-making, approvals, and high-quality client service.
- Lead and/or support the onboarding and ramp-up of new business mandates, ensuring clear accountability among stakeholders and strong control over timelines, dependencies, and issue resolution.
- Prepare relationship reviews and client analyses, including discussions on wallet share and market penetration, pipeline updates, and monitoring of portfolio profitability and ramp-up progress.
- Maintain a strong understanding of Know Your Customer (KYC) responsibilities and requirements; support KYC record renewals, coordinate the necessary information, and provide accurate summaries to in-country bankers and relevant stakeholders.
- Serve as a reliable point of contact for portfolio matters, ensuring consistent communication both internally and externally and reinforcing the firm’s standards for client coverage.
- Through disciplined account management and pipeline maintenance, identify incremental revenue streams and ensure client requirements are met to the highest standard.
Profile / Your qualification / Your personality
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in corporate banking services, relationship management, transaction banking, and/or portfolio management.
- Comprehensive product knowledge and the ability to serve clients across corporate banking solutions, including cash management, transactional FX, trade finance, and credit/lending.
- Excellent communication skills and strong teamwork abilities; able to work effectively with global, regional, and domestic stakeholders and product partners.
- Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, time management, and analytical skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines and exceed expectations.
- A proactive self-starter with a strong work ethic, a sense of ownership, and a desire to learn; able to operate with increasing independence while leveraging guidance from senior account managers.
- Demonstrated professional presence and sound judgment, with the ability to adapt to evolving client and business needs.
- Proven ability to coordinate across functions to resolve issues efficiently, manage escalations appropriately, and deliver a high-quality client experience.
