The Trader will be responsible for managing FX option risk and quoting prices to our franchise for vanilla and exotic products, in coordination with the Trading team. The overall objective of this role is to process trades for a trading book and achieve revenue targets.
Tasks
- Contribute to a trading book, generate revenue, and manage risk for the respective business
- Coordinate with Sales, Research, CMand, and other organizations across Markets and Securities Services and the broader business
- Trade a book, meet budgeted revenue targets, and manage book risk
- Establish and maintain key relationships to bring trades to the desk
- Anticipate client demand in each respective product/market
- Coordinate with desk analysts as needed and with sales to develop the business
- Leading strong governance and controls:
- Work closely with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, and Finance to ensure an appropriate governance and control infrastructure
- Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and oversight, cost discipline, and ethics
- Appropriately assess the risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions, demonstrating due consideration for the firm’s reputation
- Be familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services
- Adhere to all policies and procedures as defined by your role, which will be communicated to you
- Obtain and maintain all registrations and licenses required for your role within the appropriate timeframe
- Appropriately assess risk when making business decisions, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations; adhering to policies; applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices; and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
Profile / Your qualification / Your personality
- 3–7 years of experience in a related role
- Knowledge of relevant products and clients
- Required licenses and registrations as applicable
- Advanced analytical and numerical skills
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Effective interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to analyze and assess situations and identify suitable counterparties
- Knowledge of Bloomberg, booking systems, trading protocols, and closing procedures
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
