The Vice President, Fixed Income Division MSEHSE COO drives business planning, business strategy and key priorities for the business including resource utilization (Capital, Balance Sheet and Liquidity). Working closely with all members of the COO Team, EMEA Fixed Income Division teams, including Desk Heads, Country heads and colleagues in Finance, Operations and Technology.

The Vice President, Fixed Income Division MSEHSE COO, oversees the operating, financial, administrative, and reporting procedures and controls within MSEHSE Fixed Income Division, in accordance with MSEHSE regional strategy (the “Group Strategy”), and in compliance with the established processes, policies, systems and controls for the MSEHSE function. 

Tasks

Strategy

  • Review the Morgan Stanley Group (“MS Group”) global strategy and the Group Strategy and promote appropriate implementation within the MSEHSE Fixed Income Division across all branches.
  • Provide advice to MSEHSE Head of FID as necessary with respect to any risks and/or implications associated with the Group Strategy, and the resources required for the delivery of the strategy, in relation to MSEHSE Fixed Income Division.

Performance

  • Collaborate with MSEHSE Fixed Income Division Management team to develop and implement plans for systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the operational and financial objectives of MSEHSE Fixed Income Division while ensuring consistency with the MSEHSE and Group Strategy and with the Group’s risk appetite and objectives;
  • Provide regular reports to the MSEHSE Head of FID and other appropriate parties of all matters relating to MSEHSE Fixed Income Division, its performance and operations and other key matters which they require to be brought to their attention and/or of which they ought reasonably to be aware.

Systems and Controls

  • Ensure the implementation and MSEHSE Fixed Income Division adherence to the appropriate systems and controls within MSEHSE Fixed Income Division for the identification, quantification, mitigation and management of risk on a day to day basis;
  • Work with MSEHSE Head of FID to oversee and report on MSEHSE Fixed Income Division ‘s compliance with the relevant requirements and standards of the regulatory system applicable to the Group; and
  • Oversee and report on MSEHSE Fixed Income Division’s adherence to the Group’s policies and procedures.

Leadership

  • Promote an appropriate culture and standards, in accordance with MS Group core values, amongst MSEHSE Fixed Income Division staff, including the fair treatment of the Group’s customers and preserving market integrity;

Client and Stakeholder Relationships

  • Establish appropriately targeted client relationships, and work collaboratively on transactions and services that are material to those clients; and
  • Consider the potential impacts of MSEHSE Group’s activities and exercise appropriate judgement to protect the MSEHSE Group’s reputation with clients, regulators and other external stakeholders.  

Profile / Your qualification / Your personality

What we’re looking for:

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in STEM or economics
  • Commitment to delivery of highest quality work product; strong attention to detail
  • Proactive, self-motivated, goal oriented, and organized; superior sense of ownership 
  • Desire to contribute to a team environment that balances individual initiative and team accomplishments
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Experience in successfully navigating complexity in a front-office environment e.g. as part of a deal team or structurer
  • Familiarity with financial statements, capital or liquidity calculations
  • Excel /Power BI, business writing, presentation skills
