The Equity Trader performs both execution and market research duties and provides support to the rest of the MLS Trading Team.
Tasks
- Execution of client orders in accordance with the instructions and timeframe
- Research and dissemination of market information to assist customers and colleagues in their decision-making process
- Participation in various projects and team meetings as required
- Analysis of execution performance and the contribution of brokers/counterparties
- Take appropriate actions to mitigate or help mitigate the risks arising from the business activities under your responsibility
- Be actively involved in improving operational efficiency
- Contribute to comprehensive evaluations and objectives, and proactively pursue appropriate training and development
Profile / Your qualification / Your personality
- Professional qualification as required by the regulator.
- Proven experience in equity trading with a solid understanding of the UK market
- A high level of technical expertise in the field of equity trading
- Experience in sourcing liquidity and managing counterparty relationships
- Strong understanding of transaction cost analysis (TCA) tools and methodologies
- A quantitative mindset to automate trading processes
- Ability to resolve operational issues
- Contribution to all team discussions and participation in projects
- Highly numerical and analytical
- Proactive, results-oriented
- Curious
- Mature interpersonal skills, diplomatic, articulate
