Deutsche Bank’s Wealth Management business is one of the largest wealth managers worldwide. We offer our clients a broad range of traditional and alternative investment solutions, as well as comprehensive advice on all aspects of wealth management. As a trusted partner to high-net-worth individuals and entrepreneurs, family offices, and foundations, we create lasting value for our clients. We specialize in developing bespoke solutions for our clients around the world, such as wealth planning across successive generations and international borders, asset management with tailored risk management, and loans and deposits. All this is possible thanks to our global network, our many years of experience, and our close collaboration with the Corporate Bank, Investment Bank, and DWS.

We aim to become a highly competitive global wealth manager by combining financial strength and stability with trustworthy partnership and forward-thinking to build sustainable and beneficial client relationships. As a growth business for Deutsche Bank, we contribute to building a more balanced, less capital-intensive, and stable business model for the bank.

As a Relationship Manager, you are the primary point of contact for clients seeking access to the full range of wealth management capabilities and solutions offered by Deutsche Bank Wealth Management. This is achieved by working in close partnership with the Investment Manager (IM) in the day-to-day planning and servicing of the client. You are responsible for acquiring new clients—who align with the bank’s business proposition—and assets, as well as growing existing business relationships, ensuring a holistic and high-quality client experience.

As a Relationship Manager, you are part of a highly dynamic team and play a key role in executing our growth strategy targeting Swiss (U)HNW clients (onshore), entrepreneurs, single/multi-family offices, and institutional investors.

Tasks

  • Identify, develop, acquire, and maintain HNW/UHNWIs, entrepreneurs, single/multi-family offices, and institutional investors
  • Increase share of wallet and assets under management by implementing a business development, sales, or relationship management approach as appropriate
  • Responsible for the overall creation of net new assets and revenue generation on the respective books in a scalable and efficient manner
  • Balance client relationships, prospect building, investment growth, administrative compliance, and personal growth and development on a day-to-day and long-term basis
  • Plan and manage resources (time, budget) to run an optimal business
  • Work in close cooperation with other coverage, product, and support functions to deliver DB’s value proposition, leveraging other DB divisions where possible, namely Corporate Business, Investment Banking, and Asset Management (DWS)
  • Recommend investment products, credit solutions, and services that are suitable for clients based on their objectives, resources, time horizon, risk profile, and preferences
  • Review client portfolios periodically to ensure portfolio performance aligns with clients’ investment objectives and risk profiles
  • Partner with Investment Managers (IMs) in managing client accounts to discuss and manage financial goals and risk tolerance, research and analyze market conditions, provide the bank’s views on various investment types, recommend asset allocation, and explain how these factors support or hinder investment objectives
  • Serve as the Accountable Client Owner with responsibility for all AML aspects of the client relationship, including KYC and account behavior
  • Establish and maintain relationships with management teams and inform management of any circumstances requiring supervisory attention, review, or approval in accordance with compliance guidelines and policies
  • Actively support the business and growth strategy, plans, and values, as well as new products and services, contributing to the success of a high-performing team
  • Participate in relevant client social events as well as in PR and other marketing activities
  • Timely follow-up and completion of various Key Risk Indicators highlighted locally and by the Booking Center—periodic KYC reviews, document deficiencies, cross-border travel/meeting call reports, portfolio reviews, etc.
  • Be aware of local compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Document quality notes in a Call Report after prospect/client calls/meetings, summarizing discussions and additional actions required, including follow-up calls
  • Build and maintain existing client relationships. Take ownership of the relationship process (from initiation to closure)

Profile / Your qualification / Your personality

  • A master’s degree with a background in finance is preferred
  • Certified Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) is desirable
  • At least 10–12 years of financial services experience as a Client Relationship Manager
  • Fluency in German and English is a prerequisite
  • Substantial financial services experience as a Client Relationship Manager, preferably in the HNW/UHNWI segment
  • Sound understanding of the Swiss private banking market as well as current business, economic, and political developments
  • A strong and genuine interest in financial markets
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Client-focused, solution-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment under pressure
  • Superior investment acumen and a solid network of clients in the target market are required
  • Good understanding of the governing regulatory framework
  • Strong collaboration skills and excellent communication skills with a positive attitude
  • Professional integrity
  • Ability to manage resources and allocate them for the most effective use
  • Willing and able to develop other staff
