The Role:
The Corporate Operations & Strategy team is a fast-paced and dynamic team that works across Blue Owl globally to enable efficient, effective, and scalable operations. This lean team supports our Chief Operating Officer in driving the firm’s mission of being a best-in-class investment shop where people like to come to work.
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our Corporate Operations & Strategy team as a Principal. This role is pivotal in driving the firm's strategic initiatives and operational excellence. The Principal will work closely with senior leadership to address key strategic challenges and opportunities, ensuring alignment with the firm's long-term goals and project managing the opportunity through to execution.
Tasks
- Operational Management & Project Leadership: Oversee day-to-day process design, implementation and management of select corporate operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness. Implement best practices to enhance productivity and performance. Manage timelines, resources, and stakeholder communication to drive execution of cross-functional processes and projects. Sample of initiatives include cost rationalization opportunities (e.g., designing & implementing conference budget framework for global investment teams, liaising with the facilities team to design, implement and monitor effective operating models), spearheading M&A operational diligence days, leading integration project management for M&A opportunities, and designing, defining and implementing frameworks to assess the state of business (e.g., framework for reassessing products/business lines/M&A).
- People Management: Serve as the business line manager for Corporate Operations & Strategy’s operational optimization vertical, managing 2+ team members in defining and accomplishing their goals.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teams across the organization to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Solicit opportunities to identify operational optimization opportunities and lead efforts to review and define steps to improve.
- Market Insights & Data Analysis: Leverage network to identify peer benchmarking projects, gather feedback and synthesize into digestible market overview. Stay abreast of industry trends and competitive landscape. Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on thorough analysis.
- Executive Support: Assist the COO in developing and implementing strategic plans and initiatives. Prepare presentations, reports, and communications, ensuring consistent messaging and alignment with the company’s vision.
- Risk Management: Identify and escalate risks to project deliverables across the team, and work with management to plan mitigation efforts.
Profile / Your qualification / Your personality
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in strategy, operations, or a related role within the financial services industry.
- Proven track record of leading strategic initiatives and managing complex projects.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate effectively at all levels and remediate interpersonal conflict between varying stakeholders.
- Experience with financial modeling and data analysis tools is a plus.
- Shown skill with executive-level presentation and the ability to distill complex issues into key items for leadership

It is expected that the base annual salary range for this New York City-based position will be $200,000 to $225,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
