Controllers ensure that the firm meets all the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated, and publicly traded financial institution. Our professionals measure the profitability of, and risks associated with, every aspect of the firm’s business. Controllers also ensure that the firm’s activities are conducted in compliance with the regulations governing transactions in the financial markets.
Since contact with virtually every part of the firm is essential for Controllers, professionals in the department gain in-depth experience with Goldman Sachs’ businesses, products, and sophisticated technology systems.
The AWM Fund Controllers team is responsible for overseeing the accounting for the AWM offshore funds, managed by Goldman Sachs Asset Management (“GSAM”). The team is responsible for both public and private funds domiciled across Europe. The fund accounting function for these GSAM funds is outsourced to various fund administrators, primarily in Europe, while leveraging the administrators’ outsourced models and applying various GAAPs. Team responsibilities include reviewing and approving the Net Asset Value (NAV) and daily pricing of funds, expense budgeting, financial statement reporting, audit management, regulatory reporting, and involvement in other product lifecycle events such as fund launches and closures, as well as working on the new product approval process. The team works closely with all internal teams associated with the AWM business, as well as with external vendors, primarily the administrators and auditors.
Your role as a Fund Controller will allow you to develop an in-depth understanding of offshore fund structures, accounting, and processes. You will have opportunities to contribute to various fund-driven projects as well as participate in various industry initiatives and technical accounting reviews.
In addition to joining the Fund Controller team, you will be part of the Capital and Financial Management Oversight function carried out by the Irish-domiciled Fund Management Company and Alternative Investment Fund Manager (“management company” or “AIFM”). You will have the opportunity to develop an in-depth understanding of the legal entity, including revenues and expenses, cash flow management, taxation, transfer pricing, and capital structure.
We’re looking for a bright, driven individual to join our Controllers team—someone eager to apply and develop their technical accounting skills to deliver high-quality reporting and analysis in a challenging and varied environment.

- Develop and refine the existing reporting framework to ensure oversight of capital and financial management in accordance with CP86 guidelines and other regulatory requirements
- Analyze the management company’s periodic financial performance, preparing and presenting management information to the Board of Directors
