Tasks

We are actively seeking a highly motivated, articulate, and team-oriented Client Portfolio Manager to join our Global Multi-Asset team in Vienna. The successful candidate will serve as a key liaison between our investment team, distribution partners, and institutional clients worldwide. This position will involve developing a detailed understanding of the team’s investment philosophy, portfolio construction approach, and asset allocation strategies, while effectively communicating complex concepts to diverse audiences.

In this role, you will:

  • Represent the Global Multi-Asset investment team to clients, prospects, and internal stakeholders, explaining complex investment concepts, asset allocation strategies, and portfolio construction methods while building the Nomura brand through effective collaboration and communication
  • Serve as an active member of the investment team, developing a comprehensive understanding of our multi-asset investment approach, portfolios, holdings, views, and strategies
  • Act as the primary liaison between distribution and sales teams and portfolio managers, ensuring seamless communication and alignment on investment messaging
  • Support client meetings, presentations, and ongoing relationship management activities with both internal teams and external clients
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of portfolio positioning, performance drivers, and market dynamics across multiple asset classes
  • Develop and maintain presentation materials, investment commentaries, white papers, and thought leadership content that position the team as experts in multi-asset investing
  • Support RFP responses and due diligence questionnaires across the multi-asset product suite
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, operations, and product development teams to align client-facing communications, assess market demand for new solutions, and support strategic planning and market expansion initiatives

Profile / Your qualification / Your personality

  • Relevant experience in client portfolio management, as an investment specialist, or in other client-facing investment roles, preferably with knowledge of multi-asset strategies and asset allocation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; CFA or an advanced degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred
  • Demonstrated strong expertise in investment and capital markets across multiple asset classes, including equities, fixed income, currencies, and alternatives
  • Detailed understanding of portfolio construction, asset allocation frameworks, and investment solutions design
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple teams, locations, and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with excellent public speaking and presentation abilities to tailor complex investment strategies for diverse audiences, ranging from one-on-one meetings to larger forums
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and highly capable of seeing projects through to completion
  • Exceptional skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; proficiency in Bloomberg and/or Morningstar Direct is a plus
  • Ability to work with large data sets to concisely analyze and report insights and findings; coding skills are a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with senior management, investment professionals, and external clients
  • Commitment to providing outstanding client service and maintaining a client-first mindset
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
