The Cash & Collateral Management Analyst is a developing professional role. Applies specialized knowledge to monitor, assess, analyze, and/or evaluate processes and data. Identifies policy gaps and formulates policies. Interprets data and makes recommendations. Researches and interprets factual information. Identifies inconsistencies in data or results, defines business issues, and formulates recommendations on policies, procedures, or practices. Integrates established disciplinary knowledge within their own specialty area with a basic understanding of related industry practices. Has a good understanding of how the team interacts with others to achieve the area’s objectives. Develops working knowledge of industry practices and standards. Has a limited but direct impact on the business through the quality of the tasks and services provided. The job holder’s impact is restricted to their own team.
Tasks
- Responsible for the efficient and proper utilization of cash and collateral throughout the firm and its subsidiaries, both domestically and internationally
- Working with the funding and credit relations groups, will analyze cash flow, the use of cash, capital, and collateral, the transfer of funds (both within the company and with outside parties), bank account usage, bank fees, and the flow of funds
- Establish controls for all cash and collateral movements and cash usage, and coordinate activities with auditing functions
- Arrange lock-box and/or other security and control systems at domestic and international locations and work closely with various operations and settlement teams to establish proper procedures and controls
- Play a significant role in developing and coordinating data processing systems as they relate to the cash management group, the entire treasury function, and the collateral operations group
- Monitor portfolios and associated exposure to ensure that collateral is requested from internal and external counterparties in a timely manner
- Serve as the internal liaison between the client and Citi
- Exposure monitoring and margin calls
- Support the daily reconciliation of trades, transfers, positions, margins, and cash with exchanges and carry brokers
- Support daily margining and settlements with exchanges, carry brokers, and the firm’s clients
- Participating in the documentation of business requirements and the testing of new processes and systems
- Portfolio maintenance
- Portfolio reconciliation and dispute management
Profile / Your qualification / Your personality
- 0–2 years of relevant experience
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience with new account setup and mapping.
- Intermediate-level Microsoft skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook; computer literate with the ability to quickly grasp various in-house systems
- Good attention to detail, combined with analytical skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
