Blackstone Asset-Based Finance – Asset Operations Vice President

Job Description:

Responsible for providing comprehensive end-to-end operational support for private client mandates, encompassing trade capture, settlement, cash and asset reconciliation, and full life-cycle asset servicing. The team is responsible for the operational management of originated and private assets, including revolving credit facilities, delayed draw facilities, term loans, ABS, CMBS, and privately originated loans. This position may involve direct client contact and requires extensive interaction with internal teams as well as external insurance client stakeholders.

Tasks

  • Capture and maintain all life-cycle transactions and borrowings in internal systems.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve inquiries related to positions or transactions.
  • Perform daily cash and position reconciliations.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between internal systems and trustees/custodians.
  • Monitor the private deal pipeline to ensure operational readiness and timely bookings.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and comprehensive support to both external clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in setting up new assets and structures within the private loan sector.
  • Ad hoc reporting

Depending on the position, you may be required to obtain certain securities licenses if you are in a client-facing role and/or if you are engaged in the following:

  • Attending client meetings where you discuss Blackstone products and/or address client questions;
  • Marketing Blackstone funds to new or existing clients;
  • Supervising or training employees who hold securities licenses;
  • Structuring or creating Blackstone funds or products; and
  • Providing advice on marketing plans prepared by a sales team or developing and/or contributing information for marketing materials.

Profile / Your qualification / Your personality

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, and have demonstrated excellence in their previous endeavors. In addition to strong analytical and quantitative skills, the successful candidate should have:

  • 10+ years of experience in structured products or a middle-office role.
  • Strong knowledge of security operations for both loan and fixed-income products.
  • A solid understanding of asset lifecycle activities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects.
  • Strong analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic, personal and professional integrity, and a consistently positive attitude.
  • Deep expertise with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple teams on technical issues.
  • Knowledge of Advent Geneva and Bloomberg would be a plus.
