Our Market Insights team is a global investment strategy group focused on macroeconomic issues that impact financial markets. The team formulates and communicates market and economic insights to institutional and retail clients, the media, and internal partners on behalf of the global J.P. Morgan Asset Management business. Led globally by Dr. David Kelly and in EMEA by Karen Ward, the team includes strategists and market analysts based in New York, London, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Milan, Paris, Frankfurt, Brussels, Melbourne, Tokyo, and other locations.

The team shares its insights through the Market Insights Program, a comprehensive offering for clients that includes the quarterly flagship “Guide to the Markets” chart pack, roadshows, and webcasts, as well as other regular webcasts, presentations, and publications. The program is currently available to clients in 33 countries and 13 languages.

The program’s three main objectives are

  • To help clients make better, more informed investment decisions;
  • To position J.P. Morgan Asset Management as the leading provider of capital markets and economic insights; and
  • To help JPM’s sales force gain access to new clients, build stronger relationships with existing clients by adding value to the relationship, and uncover opportunities with clients through an active, ongoing dialogue about capital markets and the economy.

  • Contribute to the team’s macro and market research efforts, adding intellectual value to the team’s discussions and using data-driven analysis to help inform the team’s views.
  • Present to clients in person and virtually to discuss the outlook for the global economy and financial markets.
  • Play a leading role in shaping the team’s views across a variety of asset classes and share these views in a range of client-facing settings.
  • Help educate internal partners on economic and market issues, with a particular focus on how to use the resources available through the Market Insights Program to address these issues and link them to investment solutions.
  • Partner with internal investment desks to exchange views and identify opportunities for collaboration.
