BlackRock takes a dynamic approach to alternative investments, creating investment vehicles designed to capitalize on evolving opportunities across markets. Leveraging BlackRock’s specialized investment capabilities and technology resources, our Multi-Alternatives ("Multi-Alts") team designs and manages a wide-range of alternative investment portfolios across liquidity profiles and strategies including private equity, private credit, infrastructure, real estate, and hedge funds. Our alternative investment capabilities are fully integrated with the broader firm, allowing the Multi-Alts investment teams to benefit from the resources of a global firm in areas such as risk management, client service, and operational support.
BlackRock’s Multi-Alts team manages roughly $40 billion (as of January 1, 2025) in alternatives portfolios across investment strategies within three distinct pillars: Alternative Portfolio Solutions (“APS”), Direct Private Opportunities (“DPO”), and Hedge Fund Solutions (“HFS”).
HFS invests across the spectrum of hedge fund strategies with a goal of providing strong risk adjusted returns that exhibit low correlation to traditional portfolio investments. Our global client list consists of institutional investors such as pension funds, foundations, endowments, and sovereign wealth funds. The HFS Product Strategy (PS) team works closely with BlackRock’s investment, sales and client relationship management teams in order to raise new capital from prospective clients as well as retain and grow relationships with existing clients. Product Strategists are involved in driving forward these efforts which include working with the investment teams to design client solutions, developing related marketing materials and written content, as well as enhancing systems/processes. The role demands a high degree of collaboration with other team members, BlackRock business units and frequent interaction with clients and prospective clients.
Aufgaben
- Relationship Management and Sales Support: Work and report to senior members of the PS team, supporting existing client and consultant relationships, new business development, as well as relationships with internal clients that include BlackRock’s distribution teams.
- Content/Marketing Materials Development: Conduct research and develop both written content and marketing materials in support of prospective client development and client relationship management.
- Due Diligence: Assist with comprehensive due diligence undertaken on each potential client opportunity using internal and external sources. Organize materials and coordinate logistics for meetings with clients and prospects.
- Investment Insight: Work closely with BlackRock Manager Research to build proficient knowledge of hedge funds on the platform and the industry more broadly.
